SunTrust Plaza and Parking Garage

The SunTrust Plaza

The SunTrust Plaza and Parking Garage on Park Avenue opened in early 1999. Ownership of the property by Rollins College extends from 1961 when it was used as a classroom building called the Park Avenue School. In 1989, the College demolished the building, and the property remained an empty lot for the next eight years until the College decided to turn it into a commercial development. After the construction was completed, the 81,000-square-foot building contains 24,500 square feet of specialty retail areas and 56,000 square feet of professional office space. The Parking Garage, which provides over 800 parking spots in four levels, is attached to the SunTrust Plaza. The façade of the SunTrust Plaza and that of the Garage add European look to Park Avenue. The $15-million project was designed by the Baltimore firm RTKL, while the garage was designed by CHPA Consulting Eng. Inc., and built by contractor Jack Jennings & Sons, Inc.
