Bert M. Martin Tennis Complex

Ground was broken for the Bert W. Martin Tennis Complex on April 20, 1988. The complex, which cost an estimated $290,000, was given to the College by several major benefactors: the Bert W. Martin Foundation of California, Winfred Martin Warden (’45), Orlando restaurateur Champ Williams, Maitland real estate developer Peter Cahall (’71), and former Chairman of the Board of Florida State Properties Sam Burchers (’49). The complex was dedicated on February 22, 1989, and provides students with six courts and state-of-the-art lighting. The facilities are used by the men’s and women’s varsity tennis teams for practice, intercollegiate matches, and tournament play.
