Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker Building

The dedication ceremony for the Rinker Building took place on May 9, 2003. In honor of Marshall E. Rinker, Sr., and his wife Vera Lea, the Rinker Foundation donated $1 million in 2000 toward the construction of the new admission building on the Rollins College campus. The funding was made available by Marshall E. Rinker, Jr. (’49), former director of the Rinker Materials Corporation. The site of the new admission and financial aid building is at the corner of Fairbanks and Park Avenues. Because the Rinker Building is located on the boundary between the core of the city of Winter Park and Rollins College, the project also serves as a means to enhance the beautification of the City. The Rinker Building was the second component of the planned trio (the McKean Gateway and Barker Stadium were the other two) of structures to improve the entrance of the College.

The architecture style of the building continues the long tradition of Mediterranean style throughout the rest of the Rollins campus. The building is constructed of Mexican marble and decorative masonry under a Spanish tile roof. The 10,600-square-foot building was designed by the architectural firm of Chael, Cooper & Associates of Miami and built by Lamm & Company of Orlando.
