Greenhouse

President Seymore during the Greenhouse dedication in 1983

Situated by Lake Virginia, the Botanical Research Center was inaugurated on October 20, 1983, with funding from Susan O. and Frederick A. Hauck. The 3,200-square-foot research center houses a rich variety of plants such as orchids, carnivorous plants, and bromeliads, and even a collection of butterflies. The Greenhouse provides Rollins students and faculty with hands-on experience with the process of reproduction and adaptation of plants.  In 1985, a storage area was added to the existing structure of the Greenhouse.
