Situated by Lake Virginia, the Botanical Research Center was inaugurated on October 20, 1983, with funding from Susan O. and Frederick A. Hauck. The 3,200-square-foot research center houses a rich variety of plants such as orchids, carnivorous plants, and bromeliads, and even a collection of butterflies. The Greenhouse provides Rollins students and faculty with hands-on experience with the process of reproduction and adaptation of plants. In 1985, a storage area was added to the existing structure of the Greenhouse. |
